January Task
The Clockmaker’s Second Chance
While walking home on New Year’s Day, you pass a strange little shop you’ve never seen before – The Clockmaker’s Workshop. Inside, dozens of clocks tick in perfect unison, but there are no customers… and no shopkeeper in sight.
Suddenly, one of the clocks begins to glow. As you touch it, time freezes and a voice whispers: “You have one chance to rewrite a moment.”
You’re transported back to a moment in your life (recent or long ago) that didn’t go as planned. But this time, you have the power to change what happened.
Will you fix a mistake, take a risk you once avoided, or make a different choice entirely? And what will the consequences be?
Rules:
✅ Word count: 300–500 words
✅ Your story must include a moment from the past and a changed outcome
✅ Use descriptive writing to show emotion and setting
✅ Explore the theme of second chances
✅ No AI-generated content
✅ End with a reflection or twist based on the decision made
